Bled, Slovenia, August 28, 2023. Today was a special honour for the Slovak international Tree of Peace initiative. During the 2023 Bled Strategic Forum, on the 5th anniversary of this peace project, the jubilee 33rd Peace Tree was planted in Slovenia.
The planting ceremony in this picturesque Slovenian town at the foot of the Julian Alps was attended by the Secretary-General of Servare et Manere; the Mayor of Bled Mr. Anton Mežan; Mr. Miroslav Wlachovsky, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia; Mr. Milan Chrenko, Minister of the Environment of Slovakia; Slovak Ambassador to Slovenia, Mr. Peter Zeleňák and Mr. Bojan Kumer, Minister of Environment, Climate and Energy of Slovenia. Thanks to the very unfavorable rainy weather, it was the fastest planting ceremony yet.
Bled Strategic Forum is an annual international conference organized since 2006. Its aim is to be a platform to express contrasting opinions on modern society and its future. The main theme of this year’s forum is “Solidarity for global security”.
