Žilina, October 27, 2022. Today, on the grounds of the The Žilina self-governing region, the Secretary-General of Servare et Manere awarded Mrs. Erika Jurinová, the President of Žilina Region. Mrs. Jurinová was awarded the Memorial Medal of Tree of Peace for her contribution to the development of the international Tree of Peace initiative.

The Žilina self-governing region has already supported the planting of memorial trees several times, which is implemented by Servare et Manere. In 2018, we planted the common Tree of Peace in Vychylovka, a local part of Nová Bystrica. Mrs. Erika Jurinová personally planted it in the Kysuce village Museum. In 2019, another tree was planted in the village of Divina with the support of the Žilina Region, which also supported the celebration of the 4th anniversary of the international initiative Tree of Peace. The event was one of the highlights of the 13th edition of the 2022 Week of Christian Culture festival.
