Veľkrop, November 11, 2023. Today, at the largest First World War Military Cemetery in Slovakia, in the eastern Slovakian Veľkrop, an Act of Remembrance was held on the occasion of Veterans Day. The event also took place on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the end of the First World War and at the same time commemorated the 5th anniversary of the international initiative Tree of Peace.
The event at the Cemetery symbolically began at 11:11 a.m. with the laying of wreaths. The ceremony was attended by: Mr. Andrew Wells, Deputy Head of the British Embassy in Slovakia, dr. Marek Sobola, Honorary Consul of Romania in Slovakia, Mr. Martin Drobňák, Chairman of the Club of Military History Beskydy with other members of the association, Mayor of the Veľkrop village, representatives of the Prešov self-governing region as well as members of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.
