Žilina, February 26, 2022. NGO Servare et Manere, which, with the support of the the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, is implementing the international Tree of Peace initiative. It is a peaceful project of friendship and understanding between nations. So far, through the project, we have managed to unite in peace efforts and especially in the friendship of people from 18 countries.

We are watching the events in Ukraine with regret. Although we are a strictly apolitical initiative, we must categorically condemn the evils and injustices of war, because ordinary people suffer the most in every war. We condemn gross violations of international law and the principles of the UN Charter. There is no rational justification for this war. Today, we are witnessing what a fragile commodity peace and friendship are. In 2018 and 2021, the ideas of the Tree of Peace were also implemented in the Russian Federation. We have met people for whom peace has meant a really strong value without empty political phrases. And therefore we believe that there are still people in Russia who want true peace without lies and political propaganda.We wish all these Russians good luck and keep their fingers crossed! War conflict in Ukraine concerns and will affect us all, and that is why the words of the motto of the Tree of Peace sound even stronger: “Let’s make love the lifeblood of this world!”
