Rep. n° 14/2023
Bucharest, May 27, 2023. We bring a documentary from the Romanian national television TVR (Televiziunea Română). World War II was one of the bloodiest military conflicts in history and left millions of victims. Romania also lost almost one million. Soldiers set out to defend their country. On the battlefields, they withstood bullets, cold and hunger, as well as the horrors of captivity. All nations pray eternally for those who have sacrificed themselves in battle or been imprisoned. The documentary film discusses emotional moments from the point of view of the memorials, but also about the volunteers who will not let the known or unknown heroes be forgotten. At the end of the documentary (approximately from the 38th minute), Marek Sobola, Secretary General of Servare et Manere, also appears, presenting the Tree of Peace initiative, an ambitious global message of peace that has brought together 19 countries so far. The living memorial Tree of Peace represents life, growth, prosperity and respect for our history, or the history of every nation and the entire planet.
