Rep. n° 07/2024

Belgrade, July 15, 2024. Another pleasant meeting with His Royal Highness Alexander, Crown Prince of Yugoslavia. His Royal Highness received the Secretary-General of Servare et Manere for the second time in a private audience at the Royal Palace in Belgrade. Marek Sobola was also given the honour of meeting Her Royal Highness Katherine, Crown Princess of Yugoslavia. The Kingdom of Yugoslavia was a country in Southeast and Central Europe that existed from 1918 until 1941. From 1918 to 1929, it was officially called the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, but the term “Yugoslavia” (lit. ’Land of the South Slavs’) was its colloquial name due to its origins. The official name of the state was changed to “Kingdom of Yugoslavia” by King Alexander I on 3 October 1929. The audience was followed by a tour of the representative premises of the Royal Palace.

In September 2021, Marek Sobola, on behalf of the organization Servare et Manere, awarded His Royal Highness with a high award from this Slovak peace association. HRH Crown Prince Alexander said during the award ceremony (2021): “It is a great honour for me to accept this high award. I am very happy that your organization works so devotedly to promote the high ideals of peace, unity, and friendship. Our world and the entire human society cannot exist without them. We should all do whatever we can to contribute to building bridges between nations. This task may seem hard, but it is worthy of every effort put into achieving it. I am happy that you recognized my aspirations to contribute to this very important field. I have to say that I am just following the path that was set to me by my ancestors, my great-grandfather, King Peter I, my grandfather, King Alexander I, and my father, King Peter II. It is their legacy to me, and the duty of every member of the Royal family, to make his contribution to creating a better world for everyone.”
