Žilina/Kremnica, March 16, 2019. For the following years a commemorative plaque design will be changed. The new proposal is created in cooperation with the Kremnica Mint Studio. Author of new design is Marek Sobola, author of the gypsum model Slovak medalist Branislav Ronai. This new design is universal and best reflects a main idea of the project, which is the message of peace through the motto: “Let´s make love the lifeblood of this world”. The date on the plaque will be updated annually. We also prepare small medals with the same design, which will be unique souvenirs. It will be a tool to fund the project implementation also.
The Kremnica Mint (Slovak: Mincovňa Kremnica) is a state-owned mint situated in Kremnica, Slovakia. The predecessor of current Mincovňa Kremnica, š. p. (štátny podnik = state company) was established in 1328, and for nearly seven centuries it has continuously been producing mint articles. Kremnica Mint manufactures both circulation coins and commemorative coins for the National Bank of Slovakia (Slovak euro coins), but the Mint’s available capacities and quality standards make it capable of supplying coins to other countries worldwide. In March 2013 the Mint won a contract to produce 175 million Sri Lankan 10 Rupee pieces. This contract is especially valuable for Kremnica Mint as it succeeded in the field previously dominated by the Royal Mint.
